The Club Governance Fundamentals e-learning module is now available on the Golf Australia website.
GMA NSW members were given an insight into the program and some of the latest research at a workshop session at Killara Golf Club on 21st September presented by GA’s Club Facilities & Support Manager, Paul Vardy.
The module is specifically designed for golf club management and directors and provides a basic introduction to the principles of good governance.
Among the topics covered are the definition of governance, the Board’s key roles and legal duties, skills and characteristics of your board, the difference between board and operation and committees and board evaluation.
The module comprises a variety of learning tasks and assessment items and takes about one hour to complete. Cost is $49.50
Attached is the presentation from the Workshop Session which includes the background research which contributed to the course design. There are also several scenarios ideas for consideration and use.
The course can be accessed through this link: http://www.golf.org.au/clubsupport and click on e-learning modules
